Product Description
Tinted float glass, also known as heat absorbing glass, is produced through the float process with small amounts of metal oxides added to color the standard clear glass mix. The coloration is achieved during the smelting stage without affecting the glass’s fundamental properties. While colored, visible light reflectance is slightly higher than clear glass, and thicker panels show deeper color and reduced visible transmittance.
Tinted float glass effectively reduces solar transmittance by absorbing a significant portion of solar energy, helping control indoor heat and improve energy efficiency. Blossom Material offers a comprehensive range of natural and vibrant colors that complement modern architectural materials, adding style and value to both new and renovated buildings.
Our tinted float glass is distortion-free, precision flat, and transparent. The molten glass ribbon is floated over a tin bath, gradually cooled in an annealing lehr, then washed and cut to the required sizes.
